More Tree Love

It's the high season of tree love for me, so I thought I'd belatedly share some pages from a fantastic Tree Journal workshop I participated in this summer with Orly Avineri, a wonderful artist, teacher and friend whom I love deeply.

Also, this beautiful poem:

I wish to grow dumber,
to slip deep into woods that grow blinder
with each step I take,
until the fingers let go of their numbers
and the hands are finally ignorant as paws.
Unable to count the petals,
I will not know who loves me,
who loves me not.
Nothing to remember,
nothing to forgive,
I will stumble into the juice of the berry, the shag of bark,
I will be dense and happy as fur.
-Noelle Oxenhandler

  1. Oh Arlene, I love your trees! You inspire me, truly you do! Miss you!

  2. It's great to see your journal again! It was truly a magical time in Orly's workshop =-)

  3. These pages are beautiful! So jealous of your class with Orly. I think she's very cool! I also love your previous post with the concentric circles on your birthday. Beautiful art you are creating!

  4. Love ya sista, your images, your words, your spirit, your love, XOXOrly

  5. Wow. My face aches from smiling as I read your words. BA

  6. So glad I found your beautiful and inspiring blog!
Lots of love from the Netherlands.

  7. Hiya
I really like your blog - looking forward to reading more!
I found Noelle Oxenhandler's poem, 'Wood' so inspiring, I had to incorporate it into a journal spread, which you can see in my blog.
    Thank you!
